JioStar to launch 6 seasons of Bigg Boss simultaneously this festive season

Mumbai, Jul 20 (UNI) Entertainment network JioStar has announced that it will launch six-language editions of its flagship reality show, Bigg Boss, simultaneously during the upcoming festive season, marking the first time the franchise's Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali versions will premiere together.
The company also released the country's first data-driven coffee table book 'India's Bigg Reality', which showcases the journey, cultural impact and commercial success of "Bigg Boss".
The company said in a statement that all six seasons of "Bigg Boss" will air on its television network and JioHotstar starting in September 2026. The show will be hosted by Salman Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, Nagarjuna, Kiccha Sudeep, and Mohanlal, while former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly will also join the Bengali version.
According to JioStar, the "Bigg Boss" franchise reached over 500 million viewers and recorded over 438 billion viewing minutes in 2025. The show, which airs in six languages, achieved a 47 per cent year-on-year growth in viewership.
Mahesh Shetty, Head – Entertainment Sales (TV), said that over the last two decades, Bigg Boss has continuously expanded its reach and influence, becoming not just an entertainment show but a cultural phenomenon.
Bhaskar Ramesh, Head – Entertainment Sales (Digital), said that Bigg Boss emerges as a key platform to attract audience attention during the festive season and provides brands with an opportunity to connect with consumers on a large scale.
According to the company, Bigg Boss received over 9.32 billion votes and 43 million live chats on JioHotstar in 2025. Furthermore, the show generated over 1.7 billion social media engagements and nearly 30 million user-generated memes.
JioStar said Bigg Boss reaches over 200 million viewers in Hindi-speaking regions, while in South India it reaches over 300 million viewers. UNI NST SS
