New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) The Election Commission on Friday issued notification for the fourth phase of Assembly elections in Jharkhand on December 16.
According to the Commission, polling will be held in assembly constituencies of Madhupur, Deoghar (SC), Bagodar, Jamua (SC), Gandey, Giridih, Dumri, Bokaro, Chandankiyari (SC), Sindri, Nirsa, Dhanbad, Jharia, Tundi and Baghmara.
The last date for filing nominations is November 29 and for withdrawing nominations is November 30.
The polling for the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly will be held in five phases and the results will be announced on December 23.
The Commission had announced Jharkhand polls on November 1 as the assembly is to set to end on January 5, 2020.
The BJP government, led by Chief Minister Raghubar Das, is currently ruling the state in an alliance with the All Jharkhand Students' Union (AJSU).
In the 2014 election, the BJP bagged 37 seats and its ally the AJSU won 17, while the Congress was reduced to just six seats.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) secured 19 seats while former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi's Jharkhand Vikas Morcha got eight seats.
