Jharkhand polls: 45.33 pc voter turnout till 1300hrs in second phase of polls on 20 seats

Ranchi, Dec 7 (UNI) An average voter turnout of 45.33 per cent has been recorded till 1300hrs on the 20 seats where voting is underway for the second of the five-phased Assembly elections.
In the six hours of voting, Sisai recorded maximum turnout at 54.56 per cent while Jamshedpur West was the lowest at 33 per cent.
Constituency wise voter turnout is as follows: Behragora 52.2 per cent, Jamshedpur East 34.9 per cent, Jamshedpur West 33, Ghatshila 49.9 per cent, Potka 48 per cent, Chaibasa 40.13 per cent, Jugsalai 44.1 per cent, Manjhgaon 51.09 per cent, Jaggannathpur 46.17 per cent, Manoharpur 38.51 per cent, Chakardharpur 46.41 per cent, Sisai 54.56 per cent, Simdega 45.4 per cent, Kolebira 46 per cent, Torpa 43.57 per cent, Khunti 45.96 per cent, Mandar 49.84 per cent, Tamar 49.31 per cent, Saraikela 46.23 per cent and Kharsawan 49.17 per cent.
Voting on 18 out of these 20 seats will end at 1500hrs while polling will continue till 1700hrs in Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West .
Meanwhile, a report from Gumla said half a dozen policemen were injured and a youth was killed in a clash between people and security forces at booth no. 36 in Kudra panchayat area of Baghani village.
In another incident, Maoists set on fire a bus in Jojohatu under Chaibasa assembly area of the West Singhbhum district. The bus had come to take the polling parties to the relocated both. No casualty was reported in the incident.
