Jharkhand Health Minister accuses Centre of ignoring state amid Coronavirus crisis

Ranchi, Apr 2 (UNI) Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta has accused the central
government of ignoring the state amid the Coronavirus crisis.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has on two occasions has held a video
conferencing with the Chief Ministers over the issue of tackling Coronavirus in the
country however none of the occasions he tried to collect information regarding the
problems of the state.
The minister said that despite Jharkhand having two positive cases of Coronavirus
the central government did not try to collect information from the state.
He demanded the Prime Minister to provide the state with necessary medical
equipments, food grains and economic package.
Gupta described the call of the Prime Minister to light a Diya to showcase solidarity
in fight against Coronavirus as a political programme.
He said that instead of burning lights and banging utensils it was more important to
increase the medical resources and alleged that the state had not received PPE Kits
and N-95 Masks in sufficient numbers.
He informed that Union Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan had spoken to him over
phone yesterday and collected information regarding positive cases and preparations
so far in the state.
Gupta had demanded masks, PPE Kits and ventilators from the minister which he
assured to fulfill soon.

Odisha: Couple sentenced to life for killing minor child
