Jharkhand government declares Popular front of India an illegal outfit

Ranchi, Feb 12 (UNI) Jharkhand government has declared the Popular Front
of India (PFI) as an illegal outfit.
A notification in this regard has been today issued by the Home Prison
and Disaster management department.
The government in its notification has said that PFI has been found
involved in such act which is dangerous to the security of the state and
the nation and also disturbs the communal harmony and is harmful for
the secular credentials of the country.
"Keeping in mind the acts and purpose and on the basis of the proof
provided by the Jharkhand Police it appears that PFI is completely involved
in Anti National anti social and communal activities and those which
increase social discord among the people," the notification said.
As per the notification after a detailed review that PFI was not only
present in Jharkhand but was also involved in illegal activities in the states
of Kerala Assam West Bengal and Bihar and is involved into spreading
communal violence and dividing the society and has indulged in also raising
anti India slogans and has been found of having links with terrorist outfits like
ISIS and JMB and is involved in disturbing law and order and at the present
moment is in a big and planned way is increasing its power and if in such a
scenario it is not banned or controlled then it can become a serious threat
to the peace and law and order of the area.
" Therefore by using the power conferred to the state government under
section 16 of the criminal law amendment act 1908 PFI been declared illegal
from the date of issue of notification," it said adding that it was also illegal
for any person to become its member donate funds or publish articles or
journals in its favour.
