Jharkhand DGP post turned into ‘shield against corruption’, alleges Marandi

Ranchi, Sep 13 (UNI) BJP state president and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi today charged that the Hemant Soren government has turned the DGP’s office into a shield to protect itself from corruption, stalling police promotions and triggering a standoff with the UPSC.
He alleged that appointing Anurag Gupta, a retired officer not recognised by the UPSC or the union Home Ministry, had left Jharkhand’s police and administration “hostage to political interests.”
