Jharkhand: DC Manjunath Bhajantri reviews Implementation of child sponsorship scheme in Ranchi

Ranchi, Jan 24 (UNI) As per the directions of the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, Ranchi, Manjunath Bhajantri, an important online virtual meeting was held today to review the implementation of the government-run Sponsorship Scheme.
Chaired by the Deputy Development Commissioner, Ranchi, Saurabh Kumar Bhuvaniya, the meeting was attended by all Block Development Officers of Ranchi district, Circle Officers of urban Ranchi, along with the Assistant Director, Social Security Cell, Ranchi, and the District Child Protection Officer, Ranchi. Detailed discussions were held on the effective implementation of the Sponsorship Care Plan in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Department of Women, Child Development and Social Security, Government of Jharkhand, under the Sponsorship Care Plan Guidelines, 2018.
It was informed that the primary objective of the scheme is to improve the living standards of children below 18 years of age belonging to families with an annual income of up to Rs 75,000, who are facing adverse circumstances. These include children who have lost one or both parents, have been abandoned by parents, are living under the care of relatives, or whose parents are suffering from serious illnesses such as HIV/AIDS or leprosy, are 100 percent differently abled, or are incarcerated.

Two more owners of the illegal rat-hole coal mine arrested in Meghalaya

Shillong, Feb 15 (UNI) Meghalaya police arrested two more owners of the illegal rat-hole coal mine where a dynamite blast killed 31 mine workers in Mynsngat-Thangsko area of East Jaintia Hills district, police said on Sunday.
Earnest Swer and Rangsing Syiemlieh alias Mithun were arrested on Saturday after evading police arrest in connection with the deadly coal mine blast on February 5, police said.
