Jamshedpur, Dec 7 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das, along with his family members, on Saturday cast his vote for the Assembly polls at a booth in Bhalubasa here.
Voting is being held across 20 seats in the second of the five-phased polls in the state.
Mr Das, along with his wife, son and daughter in-law, turned up at booth number 21 located at Bhalubasa Middle School and cast their votes. The Chief Minister and his family members patiently waited in the queue for their turn. After coming out, the entire family happily posed for the cameras.
Later, speaking to the media he said he has performed his duty and urged the voters to come out and vote in large numbers to strengthen the democratic system in the world's largest democracy.
He said that he was extremely thankful for the love received by the people of Jamshedpur as the city was that of the workers and a worker was now serving the state as the chief minister. Mr Das said if voted back into power, his government will continue with the good works which have been done in the last five years as he has taken pledge in his life to remove the poverty from this rich state.
Mr Das said works for the betterment of the villages, poor, farmers, youth and women who are the focal points of his administration will continue in the next five years. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double engine government has provided good governance and development to the 3.25 crore people of Jharkhand.
When asked whether without their ally AJSU BJP will be able to reach the target of 65 plus seats he said that people of Jharkhand have already made up their minds to make a 'Majboot' sarkar (strong government )and not a 'Majboor' sarkar (helpless government) . In the past five years of this rule he has provided a corruption-free government to the people and even the opposition can not level any single allegation of corruption on his government.
Mr Das said he has served the people as 'Mazdoor Number One' for he past five years without taking a single off.
