Jewish Israelis support continuing war against Hezbollah

Jerusalem, Nov 11 (UNI) Just over half of Israeli citizens of Jewish descent support continued military action against the Lebanese movement Hezbollah, while the majority of Israeli citizens of Arab descent favor a diplomatic resolution of the conflict, an Israel Democracy Institute poll found on Monday.
"Israelis are deeply divided on how to move forward in the conflict in Lebanon. While 54% of Jewish Israelis support continued fighting against Hezbollah, 88% of Arab Israelis are in favor of pursuing a diplomatic solution," the pollster said.
The survey showed a significant increase in optimism among Israelis regarding the prospects of the country’s national security. About 47.5% of respondents expressed optimism about the country’s future in terms of national security, compared to 39% in August. This increase is likely due to the Israeli army's successes on the Lebanese front and its interception of Iran's missile attack with relatively minimal damage, the pollster believes.
