Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research hospital sealed down as two patients tested '+' ve for COVID-19

Kalaburagi, July 15 (UNI) Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research hospital here was sealed down after two of its patients tested COVID-19 positive and at least 21 staff members, including 5 doctors reported positive on Wednesday.

According to Dr Baburao Hudagikar, the director of the Jayadeva Institute of Kalaburagi, the hospital Shuts down because two patients who treated in the hospital last week had tested positive and 21 members of its health care workers including 5 doctors and 16 nurses -had Covid-19 positive.

Dr Hudagikar also said 15 other staff members of the hospital and senior doctors, have been advised self-quarantined, he said.

He said that the hospital closed down for further order, he added.

Meanwhile, the weeklong lockdown announced by the district administration was not total in Kalaburagi city on the second day on Wednesday as life remained mostly unaffected.

Since morning all vehicles including two-wheelers and Auto Rickshaws were playing on the road however long-distance buses were withdrawn reducing the bus schedule in the city.

Kalaburagi district on Tuesday reported 121 Covid-19 positive cases this rise the total cases in the district to 2313 of which total active cases are 757 and 1519 are recovered/discharge.
The district on Tuesday reported one Covid-19 death this surge the COVID death in the district to 37, the health source added.
