Mysuru, Nov 18 (UNI) Jawa motor bike which was released by famous company in the country has connecting the city of palaces with more attachment great brand name of its own.

once the Mysuru-based Ideal Jawa, which used to design and manufacture the bikes in the 80s, shut shop later due to stiff competition and heavy losses. Popular Jawa and Road King bikes are all set to stage a comeback again, though in a new shape and design.

The then King of Mysuru, Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar, had provided land to industrialist F K Irani to manufacture Jawa bikes. The company started its operations at Yadavagiri in the city in 1960. The company had made an agreement with Czechoslovakia to manufacture the bikes. The agreement ended in 1970 and Irani started making bikes in the name Yezdi since 1972.

those days the jawa bikes are in great demand across the country the factory use to manufacture more than 100 bikes every day .

the factory which was one of the major company in the city which use to give bread for many people .Once mr irani was passed away in 1985, the factory started down fall, even though others including his sons try to carry forward could not possible Finally the Yezdi factory was closed due to financial and administrative problems in 1996. There were eight varieties of vehicles of Jawa and Yezdi in the market. Many old Jawa and Road King bikes are still popular among bikers.

Second Sunday of every July is observed as World Jawa Day. It is being observed with fervour in the city too. Thousands of Jawa bikes begin their rally from Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel Ground and go around all the heritage buildings in the city.

Now Jawa bikes are ready to rule the Indian roads again with new design and engine. Automobile giant Mahindra has made an agreement with Jawa Z factory of Czech Republic. According to this agreement, the bike manufacturing unit is established at Pritampur in Madhya Pradesh and the head office of the company is in Pune.

, a distributor for Jawa bikes, opines that Jawa bike is a similar brand like Mysuru Pak. He expressed happiness over the bikes coming to the market again.

Still number of people in the city who owns and rides a Yezdi motorcycle, explains the history behind his favourite Yezdi (Jawa) bike. After a long gap of 22 years, the Jawa bikes are back to the market.
