Javadekar felicitates students for outstanding  performance in CBSE exams

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday felicitated Class 12th students who have done extremely well in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination despite challenging situations at their homes.

Mr Javadekar on the occasion of Gun Gaurav Samman here at Vigyan Bhawan awarded 70 students and congratulated students, parents, teachers and principals of various schools.

Praising Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidayalas for their excellent performance in CBSE Board results, the HRD Minister said that the Modi government in coming days will add more KV and NV in the country.

Appreciating teachers role and efforts, Mr Javadekar said, "Every child is different and a teacher is the one who understands every student of his/her class."

He also added that teachers should also try to figure out a child with lateral thinking.

"Rote learning should be discouraged. Experiential learning is must. You have knowledge but does not know how to apply is of no use." said Mr Javadekar and added physical education must be provided. Every student must engage with physical activity for at least one hour.

He also talked about importance of value and life skill education.

On the occasion besides the toppers, children with special needs, SC/ST students were also felicitated.
