Jasmine Kaur suspended for failing dope test

New Delhi, July 10 (UNI) Indian shot putter Jasmine Kaur has been provisionally suspended by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) after her dope test results revealed the presence of a banned substance.
Jasmine's name figures in the latest list of athletes under provisional suspension, as she had tested positive for Terbutaline.Terbutaline is classified as a stimulant and is frequently found in common cough syrups.
The 22-year-old athlete, who represents Punjab, secured a gold medal at the National Games held in Dehradun earlier this year, recording a personal best throw of 15.97 meters.
Furthermore, she had also earned a second-place finish at the Inter-University Games last year, with a best effort of 14.75 meters.
