Tokyo, Sep 23 (UNI) The Indian challenge at the ongoing Japan Open came to an end as Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N Sikki Reddy suffered a narrow loss in the semi-finals of the mixed doubles here today. The Indian pair, who had earlier won the Syed Modi International Badminton Championships at the beginning of the year, lost 21-14, 15-21,19-21 to Japan's Takuro Hoki and Sayaka Hirota. 19th ranked Chopra and Sikki started on a good note to win the first game but riding on home condition, the local duo made a comeback in the next two games. Earlier, Olympic silver medallists PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal had crashed out in the second round on Thursday while Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy were defeated in the quarter-finals yesterday.
