Japan lodges strong protest with N Korea over latest missile launches

Tokyo, Sep 18 (UNI) The Japanese government lodged a strong protest with North Korea over the missile launches and considers such actions a security threat not only to Japan, but to the region as a whole, the Japanese Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
"North Korea's ongoing actions, including missile launches, pose a threat to the peace and security of Japan, the region and the international community. Moreover, such missile launches violate the provisions of UN Security Council resolutions and pose a serious problem regarding the safety of our citizens. The Japanese government lodged a strong protest with North Korea and strongly condemns these actions," the ministry said in a statement.
The statement added that North Korea launched "several ballistic missiles" at approximately 21:53 and 22:23 GMT.
