Jammu District Magistrate orders restrictions on non-essential activities in district

Jammu, July 4 (UNI) Jammu District Magistrate, Sushma Chauhan on Saturday has ordered imposition of restrictions ‘on the movement of Individuals for all Non-Essential Activities between 2200 hours to 0500 hours in the territorial limits of the District.
In vide powers conferred upon her under section 144 of CrPC with relevant provisions under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and the Disaster Management Act, 2005, as per the order, the restrictions have been imposed in accordance to the guidelines and instructions issued by the State Executive Committee of Department of Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation and Reconstruction for regulating activities within the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for effective containment of COVID-19 from July 4 till further orders.
Any violation of this order shall invite punitive action under section 188 of Indian Penal Code and other relevant sections of Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the order stated further.
