Jalandhar MP urges officers to ensure on time completion of projects under MPLAD

Jalandhar, Nov 29 (UNI) Congress MP from Jalandhar Santokh Chaudhary and Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Thursday called upon the officers to ensure prompt completion of the ongoing development works under Member Parliament’s Local Area Development (MPLAD) scheme.
Presiding over a meeting to review the pace of various ongoing projects under the scheme at DIstrict Administrative Complex here today, the MP and DC said that projects worth Rs 9 crore were in the pipeline during the current fiscal year. They said that these development projects pertaining to Rural Development and Panchayat department, PWD, Water supply and sanitation, POWERCOM, Sports, Health, Municipal Corporation and other departments could give the much needed impetus to the overall development of the district. They said that the officers must accord top priority to completion of these works to facilitate the people in a big way.
They also asked the departmental heads in district to ensure the completion of development works at the earliest. They said that the sole motive of issuing grants for these works was to ensure that people could be benefited from it. They said that any sort of callousness in completion of these works was totally unwarranted and undesirable.
