Jalandhar district administration ropes in Radio jockey to educate voters

Jalandhar, Mar 26 (UNI) In order to sensitize people about their voting rights, the district administration has roped in the services of renowned Radio Jockey Deepak as its Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) icon in Jalandhar cantt assembly segment.
Divulging the details Regional Transport Authority (RTA) cum Assistant Registration Officer Jalandhar Cantt Dr Nayan Jassal said that Mr Deepak was one of north India’s most famous RJ of 98.3 FM. She said that Mr Deepak has a distinction of performing in many award shows and events in India and abroad. Dr Jassal said that the RJ has a huge fan following online on Facebook and YouTube and he would act as a catalyst in disseminating the message of ethical voting through his direct people connect.
The RTA said that under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer, events would be organized in various schools and colleges of Jalandhar to sensitize people about their voting rights. She said that the administration aims to ensure that more and more number of people could be encouraged to vote through this initiative. Dr Jassal said that the RJ has carved a niche for him in the Radio industry with sheer hard work and dedication adding she expressed hope that Mr Deepak would emerge as the leading SVEEP icon of district.
