Jaishankar, Iran’s Araghchi discuss maritime security and regional tensions

New Delhi, March 11 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi to discuss escalating regional tensions, maritime security concerns, and ongoing bilateral cooperation between New Delhi and Tehran.
During the call, the two ministers exchanged views on the impact of the conflict on maritime security and shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy corridor.
Araghchi reiterated Tehran’s position that Iran remains committed to maintaining the safety of shipping routes in the Persian Gulf, while attributing recent instability to what he described as destabilizing actions by the United States.

Iran closes Hormuz again, cites US Naval blockade of Iranian ports as reason
