Jain University awarded 'A' grade by NAAC

Bengaluru, Aug 16 (UNI) National Assessment and Accreditation
Council (NAAC), an autonomous agency of the University Grants
Commission, has accorded 'A' Grade to Jain University here.
An eight-member NAAC team, headed by Prof S Jayaram Reddy, former
Vice Chancellor Sri Venkateswara University, Hyderabad, held a
detailed on-site assessment from June 8 to 10 before awarding the
grade, according to a release here today.
Commenting on receiving 'A' Grade, Jain University Vice
Chancellor Dr N Sundararajan said that "not only has the
University's accreditation been reaffirmed but based on the remarks
appended on the institutional Assessment and Accreditation Report
from the NAAC Peer team, the institution is envisaged as a 'model
that can be emulated' by its peers.
He said that "the University is looking to enhance
collaborations with industry and institutions of repute, generate
more revenues through consultancy and upgrade research centres with
emphasis placed on placement and infrastructure.

COVID-19: Eight persons arrested on charges of pelting stones on Ambulance

Kolar, Karnataka, Jul 16 (UNI) Police have nabbed eight persons, who allegedly pelted stones on an ambulance carrying the body of a 57-year-old Covid-19 victim for last rites at a burial ground in Bangerpet, police said on Thursday
Police said that the locals, from Gangammanapalya and Kumabarapalya gathered in huge numbers and refused to make way for the ambulance to pass as they feared infection of the virus if the body was taken through their locality.
