Jagdale Healthcare announces clinical study results on Mulmina® for its Immune Boosting Benefits in Children
The study was conducted to establish the safety and efficacy of Mulmina® Mango ready to drink supplement in children between the age group of 7-14 years with respiratory tract infections. Each child was asked to consume one pack (200 ml) of Mulmina® either alone, or in combination with standard antibiotic therapy (Azithromycin and Amoxicillin Clavulanic Acid) for 28 days in the study. Each pack of Mulmina® contains over 5000 ORAC units, which ensures the recommended daily allowance of anti-oxidants.
Clinical studies in children with Mulmina® Mango (Combination of Mango, Gotu kola/Centella asisatica and Turmeric) along with standard care, have shown a significant increase in anti-oxidant markers like Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC) values and Immune markers like Immunoglobulin - G (Ig-G) in 14 and 28 days period. These studies have also proven to reduce inflammatory markers like Procalitonin, Interleukins (IL-6 and IL-8) and C-Reactive Protein (CRP). Traditionally used Ayurvedic medicines such as Turmeric, Gotu Kola, in combination with Mango which are rich sources of mesonutrients have been well studied and are now clinically proven to play a definite role in building immunity among children.
Dr.Sowmya Nagarajan, Consultant Paediatrician, Mallige Hospital, Bengaluru said, "This study proves that Mesonutrient combination of Mangifera Indica(Mango), Centella asiatica(Gotu Kola) and Turmeric when used with combination of antibiotics (Azithromycin or Amoxicillin Clavulanic Acid) in selected patients with respiratory tract infections showed increase immunity and antioxidant level as proved by blood analysis at regular intervals of time. This will provide direction to further studies on how mesonutrient enriched products can act as powerful immune boosters in therapy".
In the wake of the ongoing pandemic, more & more people are looking for better measures for preventive health. Many parents, concerned about exposing their children to the coronavirus, have delayed or bypassed basic health care protocols for their kids. With the possibility of a third wave of COVID cases in India, healthcare companies across the country are looking for an established preventive option in children for the disease. This clinical study at a NABH accredited renowned Medical Research Institute showed immune-boosting and anti-oxidant activities in children between the age group of 7-14 years with respiratory infections.
