J&K reports 1,000 new COVID cases, six deaths, JU surroundings declared micro containment zone

Jammu, Apr 10 (UNI) The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday reported more than 1,000 corona positive cases and six deaths while area in and around the University of Jammu were declared micro containment zones by the district administration.
A day after the areas in and around the Government Gandhi Memorial Science College had been declared micro containment zones, the district administration declared the same for Jammu University as several students and staff there tested positive on Friday.
Among the new COVID cases 299 are from Jammu division and 706 from Kashmir division, taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1,37,475.
