J&K Policeman killed, CRPF jawan injured in militant attack

Srinagar, Oct 2 (UNI) Militants killed a Jammu and Kashmir Policeman and injured a security personnel during an attack on a search party in Pulwama district this afternoon, police said.
They said at about 1500 hours militants fired upon a joint search party of Police and CRPF in the Pinglena area in which police personnel Javid Ahmad Dar was killed.
A CRPF personnel was also injured in the attack. The injured was immediately evacuated to hospital for treatment
The entire area was cordoned off and reinforcement sent to the spot to track the attackers. Search operation to the areas was going on till late in the evening.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that attack on joint naka party of JKP and CRPF is a cowardice & condemnable act of terrorists.
“I salute the bravery of JKP's SPO Javid Ahmad Dar, who attained martyrdom. Prayers for speedy recovery of the injured. Terrorists will be given unforgettable lesson for their heinous act”, the LG added.
Several political leaders including former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari also condemned the attack on security forces and sent condolences to the family of the police personnel.
