Jammu, Jan 25 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Police have destroyed three quintals of drugs seized in separate cases in Udhampur district.
A police spokesman here on Saturday said that Udhampur Police has destroyed 3 quintals of 10.642 kilograms of psychotropic substances seized in 26 different NDPS cases.
The destroyed items included 310.931 kg of poppy straw, 528.59 grams of heroin, and 114 grams of charas, he added.
The spokesman further said that the destruction was carried out through controlled incineration at M/S Anmol Healthcare, Vijaypur, Samba, following all required formalities to ensure environmental safety.
This action is in accordance with Section 52-A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, he said.
Earlier, on December 5, 2024, approximately 2000 kg of narcotics was also incinerated by Udhampur Police.
