J&K Police cracks murder cases of Udhampur, Jammu; arrests four

Jammu, Jul 3 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday claimed to have cracked twin murder cases of Udhampur and Jammu districts.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range here, said that information was received on Thursday at Police Station Udhampur that some unknown persons murdered one Rahul Bhagat, resident of village Dandyal in Udhampur, with a sharp-edged weapon.

He said the body was lying on spot in a pool of blood, following which a case was registered and investigation was started.

During interrogation, accused Manish Singh of Ward No 21, Dandyal, confessed that he, along with his associate Mohammad Aslam of Jojra Talab, Udhampur, had murdered the deceased over a land dispute.

The top cop said that on his disclosure, the weapon of offence (knife) has also been recovered from the bushes near Londana Morh and the murder case has been solved within 24 hours.

Meanwhile in a separate incident, a Police team arrested two labourers - Pana Lal of Village Vedesha (MP) and Sai Om of Salamatpur Village in Raisan Tehsil of Madhya Pradesh in murder case, said a Police Spokesperson.

He added that a case was registered on July 2 and investigation into the case was taken up.
