J&K Panchayat polls: 75.3 pc voting recorded in 7th Phase

Jammu, Dec 4 (UNI) The seventh phase of Panchayat polls held on Tuesday, witnessed overall 75.3 per cent polling in Jammu and Kashmir.
Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir Shaleen Kabra said a massive 84.8 per cent polling was witnessed in Jammu division and 30.3 per cent in Kashmir division.
According to Mr Kabra, Bandipora witnessed 25.2 per cent polling, Kupwara recorded 45 per cent, Baramulla 17.8 per cent, Ganderbal 30.9 per cent, Budgam 13.1 per cent, Anantnag 15.5 per cent, Ramban 83 per cent, Reasi 86.7 per cent, Samba 85.5 per cent, Jammu 83.7 per cent, Rajouri 84 per cent and Poonch registered 86.6 per cent polling.

UP: Six get lifer for murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal in 2005

Lucknow, March 29 (UNI) Six persons were held guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment along with a combined penalty of Rs 11.65 lakh by a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court here on Friday in more than 19-year-old case related to murder of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA Raju Pal and his associates, an official spokesman said here.

Four held under NDPS Act in HP
