J&K LG Murmu resigns, likely to get a fresh posting in Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir first Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu on Wednesday resigned from the LG post exactly one year after the creation of the new Union Territory, source in the government confirmed.
He is likely to get a fresh posting in Delhi, the source added.
Mr GC Murmu, a 1985 batch IAS officer from Gujarat cadre, has worked with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar when he was Chief Minister of Gujarat. Prior to his appointment as LG of newly created UT of Jammu and Kashmir in August 5, 2019, he was Secretary- Expenditure in the Finance Ministry.
