J&K HC issues notice to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board

Jammu, May 27 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir High Court today issued notice to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board for commercialisation of worship by the devotees at the revered shrine.
In a Public Interest Litigation filed by one Advocate Summit Nayyar seeking quashment of order and seeking directions to the respondents to take immediate steps for modifying the orders whereby Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has fixed the price for the devotees to attend and perform ‘Aarti’.
A Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey and Justice B S Walia after hearing petitioner in person, issued notice to Chief Executive Officer SMVDSB and Others and directed them to file response.
