J&K DGP asks cops to make Doda district terrorism free

Jammu, Jan 25 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh on Saturday asked police personnel to make Doda district terrorism free.
“During the year 2019 the Police personnel of Doda showed exemplary character in maintaining law and order as well as on the militancy front as it is very difficult to serve in the district with tough terrain,” Mr Singh said while addressing a Darbar Move in Doda on Saturday.
He lauded the Police personnel for eliminating the terrorists by launching well planed and successful operations in range and stressed upon the Offices/Jawans to make strenuous efforts to wipe out the residual militancy from the district and make the district militancy free once again.
He also took stock of security situation and also held a darbar of Officers and Jawans at DPL Doda.
The DGP complimented the Doda Police personnel for handling the situation in a professional way during the tough times especially after the abrogation of Article 370 and appreciated the Doda police for excellent work on the terrorist front very effectively.
He said that Pakistan is trying to revive the terrorism in the Chenab valley but by the joint efforts of Police and CAPFs the terrorist networks have been smashed and OGWs and their support system have also been busted.
He stressed upon them to take care of the district so that militancy does not revive in the district.
The DGP laid emphasis to launch a special drive against drug peddlers and detain the notorious drug peddlers under PSA so that the society is free of ill effects of drugs.
He said that people’s cooperation in handling the drug menace is important and directed the officers to hold Police Public meetings.
The DGP said that any individual involved/associated with the anti national activities or drug peddling should be dealt strictly. The DGP assured the jawans that their problems/issues will be addressed on priority.
