Jammu, Oct 14 (UNI) Nearly 90 houses gutted in a devastating blaze broke out on Monday in remote area of Marwah in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said that a fire broke out in one of the houses and spread widely thus engulfing more than 90 houses.
“The cause of the fire is being ascertained,” they said, adding that locals along with police made efforts to douse the flames.
There was no report of any injury or loss of life in the incident, said an official adding that the fire tenders from Anantnag and Marwah area were pressed into the service to control the massive fire.
“The fire has left many people homeless while the administration is making all arrangements and providing best possible help to the villagers,” said an official.
