J&K Admin issues advisory on Bird Flu

Jammu, Jan 6 (UNI) In wake of the spread of Bird Flu in neighbouring states of Jammu and Kashmir, the government on Wednesday evening has issued advisory to all stakeholder related to the poultry sector across the Union Territory including consumers.
As per the reports, the Bird Flu has been alerted in five states of India which include Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.
Whereas, the Jammu and Kashmir government had sounded alert following reports of bird flu in Himachal Pradesh, while joint teams of Animal Husbandry and Wildlife Department visited Gharana wetland in the outskirts of Jammu a and collected 25 birds droppings for testing to ascertain whether any of the birds is infected with the dreaded avian influenza.
