J C Bose university faridabad celebrates 'parakram parva'

Chandigarh, Sep 28 (UNI) JC Bose (erstwhile YMCA) University of Science and Technology, Faridabad celebrated ‘Surgical Strike Day’ (Prakaram Parv) on Friday with great fervour to mark the second anniversary of the Indian Army's strike against terrorists operating across the Line of Control in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Students of the University participated in various activities such as declamation contest, paid musical tributes to the martyrs and conveyed messages for the soldiers to mark the occasion.
It may be noted that the University Grants Commission has asked all the Universities to observe September 29 as Surgical Strike Day. The University organised a talk session by inviting Colonel Rishi Pal Goyal to sensitise students about sacrifices made by the armed forces. Col. Goyal, who fought Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 and served the Indian army in Kashmir during 1990s, shared his experiences with the students. The program presided over by VC Prof. Dinesh Kumar.
In his message to the students, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dinesh Kumar said that the contribution of armed forces in war and peace is very valuable to every Indian as they have always brought laurels to the nation. The events like 'Vijay Diwas' and ‘Surgical Strike Day or Parakram Parv’ are the great opportunities for us to pay our tribute and gratitude towards the defence forces.
