IUST postpones all examination, directs students to leave hostel

Srinagar, Aug 4 (UNI) The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) has postponed all examinations and directed students to vacate hotel and leave for home immediately.

A notification issued by the IUST, Awantipora in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, on Sunday said that all semester examinations scheduled to be held from Monday to August 9th have been postponed.

It said new dates for these examinations will be issued separately.

All students staying in university hotels have been directed to leave for their homes immediately.

The National Institute of Technology (NIA), Srinagar, has also suspended classes and hundreds of outside students had left for their homes after the advisory. However, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, had clarified that no order to close the institute has been issued.

Lucknow/Bhopal, Jan 24 (UNI) Cold conditions continued in north India on Friday. Braving ice cold water, lakhs of pilgrims took a holy bath at Sangam on the occasion of 'Mauni Amavasya.'
Holy city, Prayagraj, registered a low of 8 deg C. Most parts of Uttar Pradesh recorded below normal temperatures. Lucknow was at 8 deg C, Bareilly and Varanasi saw 7 deg C.
