The case was tried by session court. During the proceeding, prosecution failed to prove the case that Ramakant Sontake, a student of Industrial Technical Institute (ITI) had killed his girlfriend Pooja Gaikwad on July 5, 2013. Giving the benefit of doubt, the court acquitted him yesterday from all charges levelled against him by the prosecution.
