It's time to think beyond Nitish: NCP

Patna, Jul 09 (UNI) The Bihar unit of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today said it was time for the the people to think beyond Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as he had utterly failed in providing good governance and protect the interests of the common man.

Vice-president of Bihar unit of NCP Navin Kumar Singh said even as the state was grappling to contain the impact of Corona pandemic, all parties started campaigning for Assembly elections slated for October-November this year.

RJD was trying to exert pressure to defer Assembly elections in Bihar while NCP was prepared to face the electoral battle as and when it was held, he added.

Mr Kumar got opportunity to head the government as Chief Minister in 2005, 2010, 2015 and 2017, Singh said.

In 2015, he was heading the Grand Alliance government, but snapped ties and joined hands with BJP to form an NDA government, he added.

The NCP leader said Mr Kumar's performance was relatively better for first ten years but people felt let down as their aspirations were shattered amid the interference of RJD Chief Lalu Prasad in the matters of governance.

The Corona pandemic situation was fast moving beyond of control under the leadership of Mr Kumar, he noted.

Mr Singh said that it was time for people to think beyond Nitish Kumar in the Assembly elections this year.

NCP was prepared to provide alternative to the present regime but it was for the people to decide, he maintained.
