IT raids detect tax evasion of Rs 100 crores by Ripuraj agro private firm

Darbhanga, Dec 8 (UNI) Income Tax search operation at several locations of Ripuraj Agro Private Limited in Raxaul, Patna and Delhi, recently revealed tax evasion exceeding Rs 100 crores.
Income Tax department sources said that on December 6, a series of raids were conducted at Ripuraj Agro Private Limited in Raxaul and its other locations. More than 15 locations across Raxaul, Patna, and Delhi were targeted, which led to seizure of Rs 40 lakh in cash and 2 kg of gold jewellery, sources added.
" The investigation uncovered various fake entities created in the names of family members and employees to route unaccounted money, thereby reducing declared profits and taxes. The company was found to have evaded taxes exceeding Rs 100 crores through bogus paddy purchases", sources said adding that evidence of hawala transactions in both Indian and Nepali currencies was also discovered.
