Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Apr 1 2016 6:51PM Issue of paddy procurement rocks state Legislative CouncilPatna, Apr 1 (UNI) The issue of low procurement of paddy crops in Bihar rocked the pre lunch session of state Legislative Council forcing the adjournment of the House ahead of the scheduled time after NDA members created ruckus. As soon as House assembled for the day, BJP member Lal Babu Prasad raising the issue said government agencies could purchase only 18 lakh metric tonnes of paddy crops till March 31 against the target of 30 lakh metric tonnes. He said that the government had failed completely on this count even as the financial year 2015-16 ended yesterday itself. He said that the government had also not made payment to the tune of Rs. 600 crore to farmers against purchase of their paddy crops.
