Israeli military intercept flotilla ships from attempted breach of military blockade of Gaza Strip

Jerusalem/Gaza City, May 18 (UNI) The Israeli military began intercepting several boats on Monday that were part of a flotilla attempting to challenge the decade-long blockade on Gaza Strip.
More than 50 vessels had departed from the Turkish port city of Marmaris last week as part of what organisers from the Global Sumud Flotilla described as the final stage of a mission aimed at reaching Gaza's coastline, reports CBC News.
A livestream broadcast by activists showed passengers putting on life jackets and raising their hands during the arrival of IDF forces. The footage reportedly showed troops clad in full tactical gear, while boarding one of the vessels before the livestream abruptly cut off.
