ISKCON Mayapur gears up for Radha Ashtami

Mayapur, Sep 14 (UNI) A wave of festive gaiety and religious fervour is sweeping Sridham Mayapur as it gears up to celebrate Radha Ashtami with pomp and splendour at the ISKCON headquarters here.
Thousands of devotees are pouring in to the temple to join the festivities of divine appearance day of Srimati Radha Rani on September 17, Subroto Das, spokesperson of ISKCON, Mayapur, said. The appearance day falls exactly a fortnight after Sri Krishna Janmashtami and the festive mood continues among the devotees.
As per established scriptures Radha Rani is Lord Krishna's spiritual energy and His eternal consort. It is said that whenever the Lord takes an incarnation, His spiritual energy is born in a female form. Hence one can attain the grace of Lord Krishna and advance on spiritual path by worshipping His spiritual energy, Radha.
