Irresponsibility of YSRCP govt causing accidents in industries in AP : Naidu alleges

Irresponsibility of YSRCP govt causing accidents in industries in AP : Naidu alleges

Vijayawada, Jul 15 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the irresponsibility of YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh is causing industrial accidents and asked whether it had learned lessons from the gas leakage in LG Polymers Chemical plant on May 7.

In a statement here on Wednesday, the former Chief Minister alleged that three major industrial accidents had been taken place in Visakhapatnam due to the irresponsibility of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in taking steps to insist the managements to follow safety measures.

“The rulers’ irresponsibility has become fatal to the inhabitants of Visakhapatnam. Three major accidents have taken place during a period of 68 days. Two accidents have taken place during the last 15 days in the Pharma city itself”, he pointed out.

The safety measures in the industries are not being followed by the managements, which are causing major accidents, he alleged.

The family members of the deceased staged a dharna in front of the Visakha Solvents plant demanding to show the body. When the leaders of TDP, CPI, BJP, Janasena and trade union leaders were going there on Tuesday to console the victims, they were arrested and confined in a police station for six hours, the former Chief Minister said.

“Is not the responsibility of people’s representatives to console and help the bereaved family” he asked.

Mr Naidu demanded the government to pay Rs.1 crore compensation to the family of chemist, who was killed in the fire accident, which took place in the Visakha Solvents plant in Visakhapatnam on Monday night.
