IPL gambling racket busted, five in police net

New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) Delhi Police on Wednesday busted an IPL gambling racket and arrested five persons from Delhi’s southeast area. Cash, laptops, mobiles, LED TV, and other articles were seized from them.
The accused, Akash alias Deepu, Ahsan alias Rinku, Mukesh, Mohd Shahjad and Sunit Kumar Sinha, are close friends and they are fond of travelling and wanted to live a lavish lifestyle but had no work to earn money. To earn quick money in a short span of time, the accused allegedly started gambling on IPL matches but was held by the police on the second day of session, RP Meena, DCP, southeast Delhi, said.
Police said in view of recent incidents of IPL cricket gambling in southeast Delhi, a police team was constituted to bust the gambling racket. The team was assigned the task to track and nab the IPL gambling activities in the area.
