New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) Dashing left-handed batsman Gautam Gambhir was appointed the captain of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Daredevils (DD) on Wednesday for the upcoming season of the cash-rich league.
Gambhir had earlier led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for seven years in a row before being associated with the Daredevils franchise till 2010. As the captain of the KKR side, he led them to a couple of IPL titles in 2012 and 2014 season of the tournament.
Commenting on his appointment, the southpaw said,"It is a huge honour to once again captain DD. To get this responsibility is a way for me to give back to the sport in the city. I firmly believe that with the players currently involved we have the makings of a very good side."
