IPFT observes statehood demand day with NFNS in Tripura

Agartala, Aug 23 (UNI) The leaders of the National Federation of New States (NFNS) today urged the tribal people of Tripura not to let down from their movement for separate Tipraland for the indigenous community while addressing11th demand day for separate statehood.
The program was organised by BJP’s ally in Tripura government Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) at Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) headquarters Khumlung where a good number of tribal people attended.
Addressing the gathering, NFNS leader Manish Tamang pointed out that India got independent with 12 states and a few hundreds of princely provinces. However, over the years with the demand of the people and for better governance several new states were created. Latest, Jammu & Kashmir has been bifurcated into two Union Territory and earlier Telengana was created curving out Andhra Pradesh.

Kolkata, Apr 20 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has suspended two police officers of OC rank in West Bengal. Those suspended are officers-in charge of Saktipur and Beldanga police stations in Murshidabad district. They failed to contain violence on April 17 in their respective jurisdiction.

Patna, Apr 19 (UNI) Despite best efforts made by Election Commission and appeals from top leaders and celebrities, poll percentage in first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Bihar could reach only 48.23 per cent, which is 5.24 per cent less than polling of 2019 general elections in the state.
