IP is a key driver of Business growth: Kalapana

Hyderabad, Feb 20 (UNI) Ms. Kalpana Reddy, Senior Director of International Intellectual Property, Global Intellectual Property Center (GIPC), U.S. Chamber of Commerce has said IP is a key driver of business growth, national competitiveness and economic development as states continue to compete against each other to attract investment. IP intensive industries are an integral part of state economies.
This is the right time for stakeholder groups to deliberate upon various challenges faced by the industry and to provide inputs for translation of policies into action in improving the Innovation, IPR & Entrepreneurship ecosystem to grow business
Addressing the media here yesterday, after participating in a round table conference on ‘Innovation, IPR & Entrepreneurship in Telangana: Present Status & Way Forward’ organized by
Andhra Pradesh Technology Development & Promotion Centre (APTDC) in association the US Chamber of Commerce - Global Intellectual Property Center (GIPC), Ms. Kalpana Reddy said, “It is encouraging to see how states like Telangana are investing in initiatives to promote innovation and intellectual property. This provides an example of how incremental changes at the state level can strengthen the overall IP ecosystem."
"We hope that policymakers and stakeholders will agree that states have a bigger role to play to boost innovation across sectors. There should be an alignment between state and national priorities and greater center-state coordination to maximize inventive output and improve IP enforcement. We look forward to seeing industry specific recommendations for improving political and regulatory environment adopted for the benefit of creators and innovators in Telangana,.” he said.
