Investment, employment & urbanisation top priorities of govt: Yogi

Lucknow, Dec 6 (UNI) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that a big vision is needed for the development of the country's largest state like Uttar Pradesh with a population of 25 crores.
Participating in the discussion on the supplementary budget in the state assembly, Yogi said, "The state government is working with full sincerity to fulfill the trust with which the people of UP have elected a government for two consecutive terms after 37 years. Investment, urbanisation and employment generation are in the priority of the government's action plan," he said.
He said that as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, big and concerted efforts are being made in the state so that UP can become the growth engine of the country's economy. "Today investors from all over the world are eager to invest in UP. Today every section is getting the benefits of the schemes of the government without any discrimination, it is the result of this that every person is ready to make his contribution in making the efforts of the government successful," he said.
The CM also talked about his priorities for the coming times. Describing urbanisation as an important dimension for development, he said that Rs 4,000 crore has been proposed for the development of new cities in the supplementary budget.
He said, "The Global Investors Summit being organised on 10-12 February 2023 is an important step in the goal of making UP a 1 trillion dollar economy. Not only this, PM Modi is presiding over the G-20 group of important countries of the world during the Amrit Kaal of independence. So many programs are to be organised in UP in this regard. Financial arrangements have been made for these through a supplementary budget."
Yogi said that UP where there used to be riots and there was a crisis of identity, today has emerged as a model of law and order in the country. Reiterating the resolution of good governance, public welfare and development.
The CM also highlighted the actions of the previous governments and also described the results of the efforts of the double engine government.
He said that today every festival is being celebrated in UP in an atmosphere of peace and harmony. "The state which was called an obstacle in the development of the country has given the country a model of law and order today. Everyone has appreciated the UP model in Corona management."
The CM said that despite the order of the Supreme Court after the Nirbhaya episode in New Delhi, no city in UP was made a 'safe city'.
"The present government is working on turning 18 cities including Gautam Buddha Nagar into a safe city," he said.
He said that in the last five and a half years, more than Rs 4 lakh crore was invested in UP. "UP is becoming a data center hub. In 2015-16, the export here was worth 50,000 crores, whereas today in 2021, commodities worth Rs 1.56 lakh crores were exported."

Yogi said, "Today UP has become the first state to have 6 expressways and work is going on on 7 more. Before 2017, there were 3 airports, today 9 are functional, while work on 10 is underway."
He said at one time sugar mills were closing down in UP, while sugar is being exported from the state today. "1.81 lakh crore was paid to sugarcane farmers in 5 and a half years. All these have given pace to the development of UP, there is a belief among the people," he said.
The CM also shared the resolution to fulfill the dream of Aviral Ganga-Nirmal Ganga before 2025 Prayagraj Kumbh. He said that people from all over the world came to Prayagraj Kumbh, and everyone who came was surprised to see the security, cleanliness and orderliness.
He said, "Now there is an opportunity to organise Prayagraj Kumbh in 2025. With public cooperation, it will be made a global unique event. Additional budgetary provisions have also been made for Prayagraj Kumbh in the supplementary budget."
