Introduction of GST regime to benefit Punjab industry : Chugh

Amritsar, Aug 5 (UNI) Congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar for their untiring efforts to get the long-pending GST Amendment Bill passed unanimously in Rajya Sabha, BJP National Secretary Tarun Chugh today said that the introduction of GST regime would benefit Punjab industry in a big way.
He said GST - the uniform tax regime is considered as the biggest reform since independence. He said the industrialists, traders and the consumers had to cope up with indirect taxes till now even as everybody knew that the system allowed tax on tax. He said the introduction of GST would abolish all the chances of levying any tax on tax.
The BJP leader said that till now manufacturers have to pay VAT and other taxes to the tune of 27-28 per cent while the same is likely to come down to 18 per cent bringing in the much needed relief to the industry and pave way for a new era of industrial revolution.

Pune, April 25 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal(5.1°C or more) at many places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; at isolated places over Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and Assam and Meghalaya; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Jharkhand; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana. These were below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over Vidarbha and east Madhya Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 43.7°C was reported at Anantapur
(Rayalaseema) over the country.
