International Tourism Mart in Tripura for highlighting the tourism potential

Udaipur, Nov 22 (UNI) According to the report of Economic Review of Tripura, the state Tripura is endowed with rich flora and fauna and therefore, growing of medical plants and herbs as well as other forest based industries including traditionally rich handloom and handicrafts industries have an immense potential to develop the tourism sector.
Tourism based on wildlife, forest and Hindu/Buddhist religious places have good potential in the State. Presently, promotion of tourism has been affected by inadequate infrastructure. The development of tourism related infrastructure facilities are essential and prerequisite for promotion of tourism in the State Tripura. Besides, there is ample scope for development of eco-tourism in the State. Tourism has emerged as one of the most important segments of the economy with the improvement in the standard of living of people of Tripura as well as other States.
The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in association with the Department of Tourism, Government of Tripura and the North Eastern States is organizing the “International Tourism Mart” in Agartala, Tripura from the 22nd to 24th November 2018. The event will be held at the Pragna Bhawan, and will be inaugurated on November 22, by the Governor of Tripura, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, in the presence of Union Minister for Tourism, K.J Alphons, Chief Minister of Tripura , Biplab Kumar Deb, Union Tourism Secretary Rashmi Verma and other dignitaries from Central Ministries and North Eastern States.
