International designer Bibi Russell opens India Runway Week Season 10

New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) The Indian Federation for Fashion Development (IFFD) hosted the extremely anticipated 10th season of India Runway Week (IRW) here.
Country’s third largest fashion event commenced with high spirit in the capital from April 20, and put up a spectacular display of the hottest trends to watch out for by some of the renowned and newgen designers
The show had Bollywood and Television Divas as a showstopper, who strutted on the ramp in style.

Textiles designer Bibi Russell from Bangladesh opened the fashion extravaganza showcasing her collection ‘Rajasthali’ in association with Rajasthan Khadi Udyog.
The celebrated designer from Bangladesh who brought the humble gamchha to the international runway has for the last few years directed her focus on working for the heritage crafts of Rajasthan.
Khadi is not merely a piece of cloth, but a way of life.
The entire collection was made from this handspun and hand-woven fabric diversified by art and design intervention to be made more suitable for the modern context.
Her collection has all shades of black and white in cotton, ecological and khadi. Everything she represented is handmade in Rajasthan.
She also presented matching jewelry and shoes. Her collection include lots of Tunic, Wrap Pants, Harem Pants and others.

“We are honored to have Bibi Rusell onboard for this season as she sees Khadi as an occupation to bring high and low, rich and poor together, to show them the dignity of hand-labour” said Avinash Pathania, founder, IFFD.
