Inter-caste marriages can end caste distinctions from our society: Master Baldev Singh

Chandigarh, Feb 26 (UNI) Punjab Minister for Social Justice Empowerment and Minority Affairs Sadhu Singh Dharmsot informed the Assembly that an amount worth Rs 50,000 was given to a couple arranging inter-caste marriage.
Mr Sadhu was replying to Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Jaito MLA Baldev Singh, who said that inter-caste marriages could end caste discrimination from our society, during the question-answer hour.
On the supplementary question by Master Baldev Singh, the Minister informed that payment to a total of 3,284 couples was pending, while the amount was being released to as many as 1,000 couples immediately.
