Int'l Federation of Journalists condemns press freedom violations in Myanmar

Brussels, Feb 1 (UNI) The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) has critisised the Myanmar's military for disruptions in internet services and 'violations' of press freedom by the force during its takeover of power in the south east Asian nation on Monday.

Myanmar's military today seized power and declared a state of emergency in the country besides detaining the State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi and President Win Myint just a few hours before the first session of the new parliament was scheduled to start.
